A hellish Halloween fundraiser
Over the last few weeks we’ve been bringing you lots of hints and tips from our fabulous CG100 fundraisers throughout Scotland.
One terrific tip came from Vicky in our Human Resources (HR) team was ‘plan your event as far in advance as possible and get as many people as you can involved, not just in organising but also selling tickets to their friends and family’.
Vicky, Michael and the rest of the HR team certainly took that advice on board planning their Halloween party, race night and disco on Friday 27th October which raised an amazing £843!
Vicky’s an accomplished fundraiser having previously helped to raise over £40K to tackle social isolation and loneliness for Carr Gomm climbing Kilimanjaro back in 2012. Having held a brilliantly successful Halloween fundraiser back then she decided to tweak the idea to incorporate a race night – who doesn’t love a wee flutter on the gee gees!
And so it proved with over 50 people coming along to the Hibs Club in Edinburgh to enjoy great music, great food, amazing costumes and the chance to name and win with your very own horse.
Liz told us, “It was such good fun and HR would like to thank all those who attended and contributed to the success of the night! And a big shout out to our best dressed guiser, Nikki”.
The brilliant news is that the HR team aren’t done with fundraising for the G100 yet; with more fundraising in the pipeline by Liz as well as Vicky’s Kiltwalk fundraising, they’re sure to break the £1000 mark! What an achievement!
Thanks to every single one of you in the Carr Gomm community, and ongoing pledges, we’re only £5000 away from our £50,000 target. We’re reaching out to more people over the next few weeks to get us over the line.
You can still support any of our fabulous fundraisers here or make a donation to the campaign. Over the next few weeks we’ll also have some terrific Christmas themed ideas everyone can get involved in, so keep up with the campaign on social media and at the CG 100 website.
We couldn’t do it without you!
